Follow me behind the scenes for a recent natural light Family Photoshoot for Mother’s Day in Orangeburg, South Carolina.

Since this was a bright, sunny day, I decided just to use the natural light available.

I decided to start with the Sigma 35mm 1.4 Art lens since I knew there would be a number people in the photos. The 35mm gives me a sharp photo at a wide angle without being too far away from the subjects.

I brought the Canon 50mm 1.2 for close-ups of individuals. I chose the 50mm because it’s tack sharp and provides a shallow depth of field at 1.2, so we get that creamy background bokeh.

The Canon EOS R6 mirrorless camera was used for the entire session because when paired with these two lenses, the photos are beautiful.
